A UBO anomaly is when there is an issue with the completeness or consistency of the UBO data that has been identified. In the UBO endpoint, we identify the number and types of anomalies that have been detected. They can be:

  • ownershipDataConflict - where Persons' of Significant Control (PSC) data and shareholder data do match or when total ownership exceeds 100%
  • ownershipDataIncomplete- where we have not been able to identify the individuals or companies who own a company due to data being unavailable

If the company you've searched for has an anomaly count of 1 or more, the UBO Anomalies endpoint provides additional detail around the detected anomaly.

This is so that cases where we don't believe the data we provide to be accurately detecting the UBOs are marked.

The anomalous data is provided to save time going through register data in manual processes.
